The Buteline Blue Pre-Insulated Barrier Pipe is a top-quality piping solution designed for maximum performance and efficiency in both residential and commercial plumbing systems. Featuring a durable 13mm layer of insulation, this coiled barrier pipe provides superior thermal insulation to maintain consistent water temperature while reducing heat loss, resulting in energy savings over time.
Choose Buteline for a reliable, corrosion-free, and hygienic plumbing system that ensures the delivery of safe and clean drinking water.
Safe Drinking Water
The Buteline Plumbing System is designed to provide clean, safe, and hygienic drinking water. It is made with non-toxic materials and fully complies with the AS/NZS 4020 Food Grade Standard, ensuring its suitability for contact with potable water.
Superior Quality with Non-Metallic Components
Buteline offers a complete non-metallic plumbing system that helps maintain the superior quality of drinking water. By using Polybutene-1 (PB-1) pipes and polymer fittings, Buteline eliminates the risks associated with traditional metal plumbing systems.
Crafted from high-quality Polybutene-1
Unlike traditional copper or galvanized iron (GI) pipes, Polybutene-1 (PB-1) pipes do not corrode. PB-1 is resistant to ionic reactions commonly found in water and the surrounding environment, which prevents the corrosion and harmful buildup often seen in metal pipes.
The use of Buteline PB-1 pipes also allows for the use of a variety of Buteline polymer fittings, avoiding the need for potentially hazardous solder and solvents. Additionally, unlike copper or some de-zincification-resistant (DZR) brass pipes, the Buteline system will not corrode or leach harmful substances, such as arsenic, into the drinking water.
No Scale Build-Up
In areas with “hard” water, scale build-up in metal pipes is a common issue, leading to reduced internal bore size, restricted flow, and diminished water pressure at the faucet. This not only impacts water quality and pressure but also leads to costly repairs and water wastage. Since PB-1 pipes are non-metallic, they are unaffected by scale build-up, making them an ideal solution for regions with hard water or geothermal environments, such as Rotorua.
Preventing Algae Formation
Buteline pipes are pigmented to prevent light transmittance, which inhibits algae growth inside the pipes, ensuring a consistent supply of clean drinking water. These pipes comply with AS/NZS 2642 standards, allowing a maximum light transmittance of just 0.2%, further safeguarding water quality.
Easy Installation
Its flexible coiled design makes installation easy, even in tight spaces or around complex bends, minimising the need for additional fittings.
